Ministry of Education Mandates Strong Visitor Management System in Schools

Ministry of Education (GOI), states specific guidelines regarding the implementation of a strong and robust visitor management system by the schools.

Need for Visitor Management Systems in Indian Schools

Observing a rising number of incidents both inside and outside school premises emphasizes the pressing need for implementing a visitor management system in India.

Security is an essential aspect that needs to be addressed immediately, and it applies to both digital and walk-in visitors. Digital surveillance has now become a necessity for residential, business, and school premises.

Most businesses have stringent security measures in place that effectively monitor entry points and internal facilities to check for suspicious movements and unauthorized entries. Now, even schools and educational institutions are actively securing their premises by installing security systems, like the visitor management system.

A visitor management system, when implemented by the school administration, can help streamline school operations, ensure compliance, and enhance student safety.

Mandatory Security Guidelines by the Ministry of Education (GOI)

A notification released by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), an autonomous body under the Ministry of Education (GOI), states specific guidelines regarding the implementation of a strong and robust visitor management system by the schools.

The CBSE lays out two security aspects, the first being the mandatory installation of visitor management systems in schools, and the second relating to protecting children from potentially harmful and inappropriate online content.

What is a school visitor management system?

A school visitor management system is a specialized technology solution used by schools to improve security and regulate access for external individuals entering the premises.

The visitor management system uses advanced technology to make it easier to monitor who enters the school premises. It records and manages visitor details like identification, reason for visiting, and time of visit. Each visitor’s ID is scanned and checked for potential threats.

The visitor management system immediately alerts and notifies school staff if there are security concerns. Additionally, the system automatically collects and stores visitor information, allowing schools to create detailed reports for analysis and future reference.

This secure and systematic approach improves security, strengthening overall security measures.

Benefits of School Visitor Management System

Ever wondered about the identities of those entering your school each day? As safety becomes increasingly crucial, implementing a robust visitor management system is essential for enhancing security on school premises, as it comes with numerous benefits.

1. Inefficient & Time-Consuming Manual Check-in Process

A school visitor management system is an efficient tool that simplifies and streamlines the visitor check-in process with automated and effective screening, reducing wait times and manual paperwork. This system not only speeds up visitor registration but also enhances the visitor experience and allows staff to concentrate on other essential duties.

2. Unauthorized Access of Visitors to Sensitive Areas

A visitor management system enhances the school’s security with its advanced visitor screening features, age verification, nationality checks, and other identity details. Installation of a visitor management system helps secure unauthorized entry into school premise, allowing only verified individuals thereby preventing unwanted mishaps.

3. Zero Visitors Tracking Once They Enter the Premises

A visitor management system is designed to provide real-time visitor tracking. This security feature monitors the movements of visitors inside the school premises. This continuous oversight helps maintain a detailed record of visitor presence for safety and regulatory compliance, ensuring zero visitor tracking gaps.

Conclusion

Keeping school premises safe is a top priority, and a visitor management system helps achieve this by preventing undesirable events. It efficiently manages your school’s security by tracking visitors’ movements and streamlining administrative operations.

The best way to securely and efficiently manage your visitor process is to install a visitor management system at your school.

NFC Story

The “Assistance Control” project was inspired by the basic idea of the “Bologna Process”, a Pan-European collaboration which started in 1999, to adapt technology to provide a better quality of education that would allow improvement of the next generation of classroom teaching.
The best project finally chosen and tested involved students registered for classes with NFC phones, during the academic year 2011–2012 at “Universidad Pontificia de Salamanca, Campus Madrid” (UPSAM).
This resulted in the senior students at the School of Computer Engineering to certify 99.5% accuracy and ease of attendance that ensured continuous assessment without loss of instructional time allocated to this activity.
